F-150 & F-250

The EcoBoost engines are powerful but require spark plug changes on schedule (30k–60k depending on engine). Timing chain guides and phaser rattles are common on higher-mileage 3.5L EcoBoosts. The 10-speed automatic benefits from regular fluid changes. 5.0L Coyote owners: valve train ticking usually means spark plugs or oil level.

Explorer & Expedition

The 2.3L EcoBoost Explorer is a solid engine — watch for coolant leaks around the thermostat housing on higher-mileage units. The 10-speed transmission shudder issue (common on 2018–2020 Explorer) is often a fluid and reprogramming fix. Expedition 3.5L EcoBoost: same spark plug and timing chain notes as the F-150.

Escape & Edge

The 1.5L EcoBoost Escape has a known issue with coolant leaking into the cylinder — if you're losing coolant with no visible leak, have it checked before it becomes an engine job. The 2.0L EcoBoost Edge and Escape: timing chain service and spark plugs at 60k are common maintenance items.

Mustang

The EcoBoost Mustang 2.3L is a fun engine that needs spark plug changes around 60k. The 5.0L GT is one of Ford's best engines — primary maintenance is oil changes, spark plugs, and brake service. Both engines can develop valve cover leaks at higher mileage. Clutch and flywheel service for manual transmission cars.

Lincoln Navigator & Aviator

The 3.5L twin-turbo Navigator is a strong engine. Timing chain and phaser service become relevant around 100k+ miles. Air suspension issues are common on older Navigators. The Aviator 3.0L plug-in hybrid: standard maintenance plus hybrid battery monitoring. Both models benefit from early transmission fluid changes.

Bronco & Ranger

The Bronco 2.3L and 2.7L EcoBoost are solid performers — spark plugs and timing chain service are the primary items to stay ahead of. The Ranger 2.3L EcoBoost is essentially the same engine as the Mustang — proven and reliable with proper maintenance. 4WD service and transfer case fluid changes are important if you wheel your Bronco.
